Description

2025 German Red Dot Award: Brand Design & Identity – Award-Winning Brand Identity Project

Project Overview

Project Client: Geber Brand Marketing Consultancy
Project Type: Brand Rebranding
Scope of Work: Strategic Planning, Visual Identity, Digital Marketing Communication Applications

Challenges & Insights

From Self-Reflection to Strategic Reconstruction

As a participant in Taiwan’s brand marketing consultancy market, Geber began reflecting in 2024: with the evolution of team members and service offerings, our old logo with its classical serif style and overall corporate image could no longer adequately convey our core value of “balancing strategic thinking with creative execution.”

The deeper challenge lay in our lack of a clear philosophy to interpret our understanding of the essence of brand work.

This insight gave birth to the core concept of “Grow Beyond Brands” during internal workshops: brands are never endpoints, but starting points for connection, communication, and long-term growth. We needed to establish a complete brand philosophy system.

International Professional Recognition

Winner in the Brand Design & Identity category of the 2025 German Red Dot Award, this international professional recognition validates the effectiveness of our design logic and execution quality. Receiving recognition at an international award level represents an important milestone for our team.

This award experience also reinforced our confidence in our brand rebranding methodology, proving that the completeness of the “Grow Beyond Brands” conceptual system is recognized by international professional standards.

Brand Identity Design

♦︎ Visual Symbol Construction of Strategic Intent

In the logo design of the letters "Geber," we embedded three core symbols to represent our work focus and methodology:

The arrow-shaped letter "G" symbolizes "strategic analysis," our most valued capability. Through the rotational design and directional elements of letter G, it metaphorically represents our team members' process of organizing and extracting insights from complex information and driving progress forward, embodying our expertise in analyzing and shaping brand direction.

The elliptical negative space within letter "b" acts like a focused mirror, representing "observation and insight" — we believe that the way we observe determines the height of our thinking; brand work begins with deep observation and flexible perspective switching.

The third symbol is the small square dot "■" we quietly placed at the end of our brand wordmark, intended to express the essential nature of things, the smallest component within corporate spirit. Through its deconstruction and reconstruction, it represents systematic thinking that originates from brand essence.

The complete "Geber" logo encapsulates our comprehensive understanding and aspirations for brand management. Whether displayed vertically or horizontally, the entire logo presents a complete cycle from "analysis" to "insight" to "strategic integration," embodying an integrated brand thinking process.

♦︎ Brand Color and Typography Guidelines

Color Strategy | Built on clear functional positioning, the prominent red conveys cross-cultural tension — it's clear and decisive. In this bold expression, we chose settling dark brown to provide a stable foundation for strategic analytical thinking. These two colors form our brand's foundation, yet they're insufficient to express everything — thus the gentle and restrained pink adds a human touch to each of our endeavors.

Typography Selection | The Chinese Source Han Sans possesses natural modernity and professionalism. For English, we use Satoshi as the primary typeface for its clear, neutral qualities that carry information structure. Cabinet Grotesk reinforces brand contrast and personality. Together, they embody our work attitude: precise without being rigid, clear without being cold.

♦︎ Extended Thinking for Digital Application Systems

We aspired to a more vibrant and intuitive brand image, progressively developing a series of Geber brand proprietary icon systems, brand presentation templates, corporate identity applications, and social media post templates to ensure our new appearance and spirit could be clearly communicated continuously. During actual workshop practice, we further developed the brand visual "action symbols": the Impact Amplifier symbol consists of concentric layered squares, symbolizing the process of brand influence expanding outward from core essence. The arrow-shaped Action Accelerator ensures that strategic thinking can be effectively transformed into market execution, supporting the complete brand implementation process.

Conclusion

This rebranding was not merely a visual update, but a process of establishing a complete brand philosophy system. "Grow Beyond Brands" has transformed from concept into practical principles guiding our daily work.

Through this "self-experiment," we validated a complete methodology from concept organization to visual realization. This experience not only redefined Geber but also provided a clearer framework reference for our future collaborations with clients. After all, the best brand consultants should be able to practice what they preach, continuously refining their professional capabilities while creating value for clients.
