Metalworks Co., Ltd. is an export trading company mainly based in metal furniture parts. After accumulating years of research, developmental technology, and market observation, the person in charge found that many European furniture brands chose to cooperate with Taiwan parts and technology suppliers, but it is hard to see the real private furniture brands from Taiwan show up in Europe. At the same time, as the smartphone market has gradually reached saturation in recent years, many mobile phone brands have added many new technologies, such as wireless charging technology, to gradually subvert people's electricity habits when traveling and living at home. Hens, the needs for faster and more efficient wireless charging have grown with each passing day.Metalworks agrees and hopes to further integrate Taiwan's high-quality furniture with smart technology in order to create a smart furniture brand that combines beauty, practicality and technology, and enhances the convenience of home life. Geber's mission is to implement this original intention and spirit into brand positioning and design, create a unique personality for the new brand, and make it win favor in the highly competitive European market.
Solution
[ Brand positioning and naming ]
Following the brand concept, we have found the brand positioning of "the most natural and direct technological home furnishing products" among the many smart furniture markets and the brand's commitment to consumers: to give people a technological home that is as natural and simple as breathing. Pass the brand value of "simple, intuitive, seamless integration". For the person in charge of the brand, lazily relying on the sofa to enjoy the convenience and comfort of home life brought by technology is the feeling that most people expect to return home to. Therefore, the brand name is inspired by "Couch Potato" and "Technology". This is how the fun and memorable "Potecto" was born! At the same time, through the brand slogan "Tech furniture for couch potatoes," the brand emphasizes that the brand wants to convey the modern people's farewell to the clutter brought by technology, and enjoy the beauty of slowness.
[ Brand identity design ]
In order to highlight the spirit of Potecto, the logo design is based on the concept of the original brand name Couch Potato, which represents a comfortable and brief image of furniture, and the image of technology that simplifies people ’s life. Couch Potato, we convert the phrase into the image: “O” lying comfortably on couch, which brings out a sense of laziness, comfort and roundness. The overall identification contains the spirit of making life both easier and more tasteful. Potecto’s main color design colors are that of gray and Earth green, with warm gray, blue, and burgundy as auxiliary colors. The three colors can be used in conjunction with each other to make the brand show a warm and rich color tone as a whole, as well as a humorous and considerate brand tone.
Benefits
With both technology, practicality and beauty, Potecto is committed to simplifying complicated daily life through its furniture with a perfect fusion of design and technology, and promises to "give people a technological home that is as natural and simple as breathing". This concept extends to the existing two wireless charging sofas. The Wave Sofa is characterized by wave-shaped handrails, which combine the spirit of ergonomics, functionality and liveliness. The charging panel is set in front of the armrest, and the wavy lines inclined at 15 degrees allow users to have a better viewing angle when using the phone while charging. Another type of sofa Satellite has is a solid wood rotating tray specially designed in the armrest. Users can adjust the charging tray according to their favorite position. The streamlined shape coupled with surprises is definitely a bright spot in the space.
Looking forward to 2020, Potecto will participate in imm cologne, one of the three largest international furniture exhibitions in the world. Based on this, Potecto integrates these classic products with innovative functions through aesthetic design and technology, makes these existing products more convenient and meaningful, then brings people a better and easier life experience. Aligning with Potecto’s concept, Geber uses the geometric shapes and lines extending from logo to develop business card, digital advertisements, product manual, image advertisements and website visual design which represent this classic and innovative brand personality. Among them, the image advertisement uses a sense of modern space design to highlight the beauty of the streamlined design of the sofa itself and to perfectly represent the brand value of "simple, intuitive, and seamless integration.". It successfully drives customers to find thoughtful design and real-valued functions hidden within each detail.
